Who it's for
A parent lives alone, or a family member needs a quiet check. You set it up, they keep their privacy, and the family shares alerts: a Guardian responds, a Watcher just sees status.
An NDIS provider or care home watches many rooms across sites. Supervisors assign caseloads to support workers, families delegate each resident, and every read is audited.
How it works
Families keep phones. Care homes have spares too. Camily gives an old one a quiet new job, and setup takes minutes, not an afternoon.
Install Camily on your everyday phone and sign in with Google. Create your household, name it, done.
On a spare phone, open Camily and choose "this phone watches the room". Scan the pairing code from your phone, then set it on its stand or wall mount.
Add the person being watched and the people to alert: family by push, SMS, email or WhatsApp. Monitoring starts as soon as consent is confirmed.
Then walk through the room together and press the built-in test: you see exactly what Camily sees, and that nothing is stored.
Can it really see a fallen person?
Camily isn't a certified medical device. It's a practical "worth checking" layer that watches posture and motion, and tells someone when something looks wrong.
In live demos it flags someone lying on the floor as a possible fall, worth checking on, not a diagnosis.
Works best when a phone can watch most of the room. Still learning with play, dogs and busy floors.
Never. The first promise: no video leaves the room.
If a family opts in to check-in stills, every image is blurred on the phone first and blurred again on our servers before it is kept. Faces are destroyed, not softened. The privacy panel inside the app says plainly what has and has not left the room.
How does it know a burpee isn't a fall?
Floor exercise shares one thing with a fall: ending up on the floor. The difference is everything around it.
A burpee ends. A fall doesn't.
Still learning: a long floor stretch after yoga can look borderline, so the app always says "possible fall" and lets a human decide.
What it will miss
Camily doesn't promise to catch everything. It promises to be honest about what it can and can't see, and it says "I'm not watching" instead of pretending.
Sliding slowly down a wall or off a chair may not trigger the sharp-drop signature.
If the room phone dies, monitoring stops. The portal shows the tile as unobservable.
Pose tracking needs light. A dark room reports unobservable, never a fake "all clear".
A fall fully hidden behind a bed or sofa can't be confirmed.
Because it can miss things, the room app has a big HELP button the person can always press.
For providers
The provider portal shows every room as a live tile, queues anything needing a response, and keeps a full record of who acknowledged what. Supervisors assign caseloads to support workers; families delegate each resident to the organisation and can revoke it any time.
